Forgiveness……. A Necessary Step to Greatness |
One of the hardest things in life to accomplish is the forgiveness and reconciliation between people. This includes personal relationships, races, corporations, denominations of faith and/or even countries. Whether we want to admit it or not, forgiveness is not always easy. It is something that requires the laying down of pride and the willingness to let go of a wrong. True forgiveness is holding no record of wrong. In other words, you are able to wipe the slate clean and allow the debt you feel owed to you to be cancelled. It is important to realize that forgiveness is not a feeling; it is a choice. Choosing to release someone from a record of wrong does not always feel as if you have let the issue go. |

It's Okay If You're Angry |
|
Many Christians believe it is not okay to feel angry, however, anger is actually a very healthy emotion. The bible teaches us to “Be angry but sin not, do not let the sun go down on your anger” (Ephesians 4:26). It is not the anger that creates the problem/sin but rather the actions resulting from the anger. You may feel anger towards the perpetrator, or toward the caretaker that did not protect you. You may even feel anger towards God whom you may feel abandoned you. Anger is a normal and natural emotion when we have been violated, preyed upon, or abused. |

How well do I remember the blood on the walls from the constant fighting that went on at home. It was usually Dad’s blood. Mom had thrown an object and cut him with it. As children, we would scream and cry in terror. My parents drank almost every weekend and the latter parts of the day! |
